After graduation, I started the summer session at Toledo University and worked part time for the Mud Hens to pass time. I was never great in school, so I started looking for something else to do.
In August of 1967, I joined the US Army. I served a 20 year career with the Army including 2 tours in Vietnam, 2 in Germany, and 2 tours in South Korea, as well as various locations all over the United States. I retired in 1987 and took a job with a local Burglar Alarm/Security Company in San Antonio, Texas.
I married in 1977, and have 3 daughters (being a lazy person, I married a ready-made family), 4 granddaughters, and 4 grandsons. My oldest daughter graduated from the University of Toledo, and the younger ones graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio.
I am a certified Scuba Diver, with dives in Texas, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Honduras. I took up golf a couple years ago, and carry a 25 handicap, although I normally just say my only handicap is the clubs.
I am a Cancer Survivor, having had Prostate Cancer in 2003. I retired from my 2nd job in 2006, and live in New Braunfels, Texas, about 15 miles north of San Antonio. Three years ago I went and got a job at Target, after the third night, my wife said she was bored and told me to quit, so I did.
The last time I was in Maumee was in December, 2002, when my Mother passed away. My Father passed in 1976, and my Brother James Michael (Mike) (Class of '68) passed away in 1999. My Sister Roberta Ann (Bobbie) (class of '60) is married and living in Colorado.
