My post graduation plans were pretty well set for me by June 1967. During the previous junior year, in 1966, I had enlisted the Naval Air Reserve program at Naval Air Station Grosse Ile, MI. For my entire summer between junior and senior year I was in basic and aviation support training at Grosse Ile.

After graduation, I was off to Memphis, TN, to the Naval Air Technical Training Center for Aviation Electronics Training. I was there until January 1968. By April 1968 I was aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hancock CVA-19 for two combat cruises off Yankee Station, Vietnam.

Upon my return in the summer of 1970, I went to work for AT&T downtown Toledo. In 1971, I moved to California.

From 1978 to 1984 I participated in the Naval Air Reserves at Pt Mugu, CA.

I have been working for the past 34 years in the Telecommunications Section in the Los Angeles Dept of Water and Power (LADWP), a municipal utility. I have an semi associates degree in computer science (I didn't do the boring classes).

In 1996 I was divorced after 25 years of marriage, with two teenaged Sons to raise, Jerry III (1981) and Stephen (1983).

In July 2005 I returned from a trip to Italy to learn of the death of Stephen who passed away in his sleep on July 4th, two days after his 22nd birthday, a sad time indeed.

After 10 years together, in April of 2009 my girlfriend Debbie and I were married in a wonderful Santa Barbara beach ceremony with our three sons in attendance.

I continue in my job with LADWP where I supervise the work of 5 technicians supporting the communications structure of LADWP which consists of telephone systems, fiber optic systems and microwave systems which span the western states of California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and Oregon, interconnected with other utilities.

It was great to get back together with everybody after 40 years. I had the best time chatting with everyone and am looking forward to the next reunion.
